I was pleasantly surprised to see this email from O2 in my inbox today. They say they will send users a text alert when they spend over £20 in data charges while roaming, and another when they reach £40, letting them know that they won’t be charged any more for that monthly bill (that’s the limit). Anyone who uses their phone abroad knows what a pain data roaming charges can be, and it’s nice to see that people won’t be shocked out of their wits when they see their phone bill when they return. This makes me even happier than I was when they started O2 Priority. I’d actually like to get a similar text even when I’m in the country, if I happen to exceed a certain amount, which I’d like to set.
