This ad is not exactly the best for this particular product. I watched it right till the end trying to figure out what the product was, and though there is a glimpse of it in the middle, when it was finally displayed in the end I wasn’t really convinced of its brilliance. But as I was writing this, I just re-read what I wrote…that I had ‘watched it right till the end’. Is that enough for the ad’s agency, Clemmow Hornby Inge, to justify its success? What do you say? Sure, the Thunderbirds TV series is a classic and Brains is a fun character but the whole ‘Brains perform best when they’re hydrated’ tagline is a bit of a stretch, I think. As this article says, what next? Lady Penelope advertising Victoria’s Secret?
